Memphis Judge Tells African American Lawyers to Remove Jena 6 Pins or Kick Rocks….

September 28th, 2007 by Betty Scoop | Filed under Uncategorized.

Last Friday 6 African American lawyers went to court wearing lapel pins in the shape of a six, to show their support for the Jena 6. They were promptly told by Judge Ann Pugh to either remove the pins from their lapels or to kick rocks…. All of the Lawyers wearing the pin refused the request of the judge and reset their cases until another day. One of the lawyers T. Flowers (pictured above) felt that the act by the judge was wrong and racist. Flowers also states that their is no provisions that gives the judge the right to tell an attorney that a lapel pin can not be worn. Later in the day Judge Pugh reversed her ruling allowing the lawyers to wear the pin and conduct business in her courtroom. She probably got wind of a little lawsuit or something and figured that she better get it together. At any rate…she sounds like a real twizzat
