For Best Actress, JULIE CHRISTIE (’Away from Her’) finds herself in the running against MARION COTILLARD (’La Vie en Rose’), LAURA LINNEY (’The Savages’), ELLEN PAGE (’Juno’) and CATE BLANCHETT (’Elizabeth: The Golden Age’)
Best Actor category, GEORGE CLOONEY (’Michael Clayton’) faces DANIEL DAY-LEWIS (’There Will Be Blood’), JOHNNY DEPP (’Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’), TOMMY LEE JONES (’In the Valley of Elah’) and VIGGO MORTENSEN (’Eastern Promises’).
I am most excited about RUBY DEE who isnominated for best supporting actress for (American Gangster), and ELLEN PAGE for (Juno). But, why was American Gangster completely shut out of awards season? How in the hell did (Micheal Clayton) get a best picture nom, and GEORGE CLOONEY a best actor nom, over DENZEL WASHINGTON and (American Gangster)? That puzzles me… moving on.
