Love and Fabulosity
Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou are dish about their relationship as well as relationships past in the current issue of Harper’s Bazaar. Check out some quotes from the article.
Kimora on her divorce:
“It didn’t work. That’s the point. It didn’t work. But I tried.
Shit, honey, it was like a breakdown moment. You get to a certain age where you know that to go too far down one road would be a little too disrespectful to yourself and your soul. So it was as happy as it was painful; let’s say that.”

On Fabulosity:
“fabulosity is to get up when you’ve been kicked down, and it’s not to go after who kicked you down. It’s to get yourself together and go on with a vengeance. You can’t keep harping on that stinking tree that fell on you.”
On meeting Djimon:
“When you’re not looking, that’s when it happens,” And I have a lot of hang-ups in life with men. I’m not very trusting,” she says enigmatically. “Rightfully so. Read between the lines. I’m very good at exchanging numbers with people for business, and that’s what I did. He said, ‘Are you really going to use that number, or are you going to use it for business?’ That made me think, Oh.”.

Dijmon on what he wants:
“I wanted to find a wonderful person to be with, which is the most challenging thing in our business. My first impression has always been the same: that she’s a beautiful lady, very capable and intelligent and smart with great family values. You see her reality show, and some would call her a quote-unquote high-maintenance lady. Some people may look at it as if it’s a honeymoon stage, but she’s the least high-maintenance lady I’ve ever dated. I’ll bet my hand on that. Or however you say it.”

Dijmon on Kimora’s family:
“They’re great kids. I take my hat off to Kimora for the way she’s carried them along with her business. And Russell as well. It’s extremely commendable what they do with the kids.”
