The July issue of Vogue Italia features 150 pages of black models exclusively. This is a monumental and historical decision made by the editors of Vogue Italia. I for one think they should be applauded. What they are doing is just unheard of, considering there are usually just a few token specs of color sprinkled in the fashion spreads.

The Editor-In-Cheif Franca Sozzani said she was inspired by Barrack Obama’s historic presidential campaign. Her intention was to spark conversations about race, and to demonstrate that there is more to beauty than blonde, blue eyed Russian models. (Can I get an Amen!)

The issue features old and new pictures from famed photographer Steven Meisel. Some of the models featured are Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek, Liya Kebede, Sessilee Lopez, Jourdan Dunn, Iman, and plus size model Tocarra.

Hopefully other fashion editors will take a queue from Vogue Italia, and add more model diversity to their pages. Feast your eyes on these gorgeous women.

SHE’S ONE OF THE HOTTEST FEMALES IN POP RIGHT NOW, BUT 20-YEAR-OLD SINGER RIHANNA WORKS HARD TO LOOK THIS GORGEOUS. CHECK OUT RIHANNA’S “FABULOUS” MAGAZINE INTERVIEW….

YOU have an amazing figure. How do you stay in shape? A lot of hard work and a lot of running on the treadmill. Cardio is the key. I have a personal trainer who travels with me if we have a big event coming up. I work out every day but I need a trainer to motivate me – I don’t find it much fun working out on my own.

What do you like about your body? My bum, and I keep working at it as I want it to be perfect. It makes my clothes look good – and guys like it!

And what do you like least? My legs. I’m insecure about them. Everyone wants to have slim, perfectly-toned legs and I’m the same. I do weights but I don’t want my legs to bulk up so I do a lot of cardio. I’ve lost a lot of weight since I started working out and if I exercise every day for a week, I can drop several pounds. If I diet, I see even faster results.

Would you have cosmetic surgery? I don’t think so, but I can’t say for sure that I wouldn’t in the future. If my breasts started to drop, I might not like that. But for the next 20-25 years, I’m going to stay as natural as possible.

Tell us about the gossip that you and Jay-Z are more than just friends?…Rumours come with the territory and you can’t help these things.

Or that you are dating singer Chris Brown? I’m single. If a good guy comes along we’ll make it work, but for now I’m having fun being a single woman.

Who’s your ideal man? One who makes me happy, makes me laugh, and keeps me in good spirits.

Newsweek gives us insight to who the real Michelle Obama is in their February 25th issue. The article entitled “Barack’s Rock” described the possible future first lady as “the one who keeps him real, the one who makes sure running for leader of the free world doesn’t go to his head….. Onstage, Obama has introduced Michelle as “my rock”—the person who keeps him focused and grounded. …..She does this in part by tethering him to the more mundane responsibilities of a husband and father. She insists that Barack fly home from wherever he is to attend ballet recitals and parent-teacher conferences. When the couple host political gatherings at their home in Chicago’s Hyde Park, Michelle asks everyone to bring along their children. To help bridge the physical distance between father and daughters, Michelle recently bought two MacBook laptops, one for Barack and one for the kids, so they could have video chats over the Internet. Last Thursday, she cleared his schedule so he could return home to Chicago and spend Valentine’s Day with her and the girls.”

Michelle is on top of her game and seems to know what it takes to support her man and her family which is why as far as I’m concerned she’s already the “First Lady”…so for all the hoochies and skankrats calling Obama their man …Step Off Biotches! And no this doesn’t apply to me because you know what they say “behind every sucessful man is a great woman (me) and then his wife (Michelle)….it’s not scandalous because ‘chelle and I have an understanding when it comes to Obaby!

Alicia Keys is on the March issue of Canadian fashion magazine ‘Flare’. Keys talks about her life, where she is today and her glamorous side. Check out her Purdy in Pink cover.

Keys on success: “I have plenty more to go. I’ve definitely reached a certain height I’ve never had before. But there’s definitely a lot more to do.”

Keys on playing up her glamorous side: “I’m a lot more open to it now than before. Before, I was so much more closed. I wasn’t comfortable in my own skin. I felt like everyone was out to change me, and I was so resentful and rebelious of that. I’m still being myself, but now, I’m more open to exploring different sides of me.”

Former MTV VJ Alani “LaLa” Vasquez is featured in the athlete’s wives spread of Sports Illustrated magazine. She is the fiancé and baby mother of Carmelo Anthony who plays for the Denver Nuggets. I can’t say that I love these pics, although her face looks great, the pose, the hair and even the swim suit are just all wrong. I know that it’s not her fault, so hopefully the pics will look better in the actual magazine.

Hollywood’s Hottest New Duo, Scarlett Johansson visited the Today Show yesterday to promote their new movie “The Other Boleyn Girl” (I hear the book is outstanding) premiering February 29th. The two also appear on W magazine’s March issue which hits newsstands February 26th. I love both these girls (ok maybe I don’t looove Scarlett…but still she’s likable) so I’m looking forward to seeing this movie which has a good girl vs. bad girl premise.
