We all heard the sad news of the passing of comedian and actor Bernie Mac this past Saturday. Mac had been hospitalized for pneumonia, a rep for the star released a statement last week that Mac was responding well to treatments, and denied that Mac chronic sarcoidosis(rare autoimmune disease that can affect the skin, lungs, heart, brain and nervous system, eyes, and other organs) was a factor. People magazine revealed that Mac was indeed in much worse condition than his rep let on. Apparently, he was in ICU for much longer than actually reported, and had contracted a second strain of pneumonia while hospitalized. Although Mac’s sarcoidosis condition was not the immediate cause of his death, the condition greatly affected his immune system.

Hayes’ wife found him on the floor near a running treadmill inside his home, according to Memphis’ Shelby County Sheriff’s department. Hayes was taken to Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, where he was pronounced dead at 2:08 p.m.  Officials will continue their investigation into Hayes’ death, but they believe no foul play was involved.  He was 65 years old

Amy Winehouse has been diagnosed with Emphysema .

The talented yet trouble singer, has reached a crossroad. Her father Mitch , revealed the news to the ‘Daily Mail’ in an interview that Amy has Emphysema .

“She’s covered in nicotine patches. The only thing that can go into her lungs are fresh air. She faces a stark choice - either she sticks to it or she won’t sing again.”

Mitch believes his daughter wants to fight, he had this to say:

“She’s eating like a horse - she’s 16 pounds heavier than the last time she was in hospital. She understands she has to change. All she wants to do now is to sing, To think this could be my beautiful 24-year-old daughter’s life is preposterous. But if drugs mean more to her than breathing properly, then so be it.”

Talk about tough love, but anyone who has experience dealing with an addict knows, that sometimes that’s the only love you can give them. Only they can turn their life around. George Carlin dies over the weekend

In other Celebrity news, iconic comedian George Carlin passed away over the weekend. Carlin was 71 years old, and died in a Santa Monica Hospital. After being admitted yesterday after complaining of chest pains, he died later that day of heart failure. Carlin was know in the comedy world for his brazen and often controversial comedic performances. I was about 14 years old when I saw his first comedy special on HBO. I was definitely intrigued by the vulgarity of his words, and his in your face delivery, but that’s not why I kept watching. I kept watching because he was absolutely hilarious, and more importantly he made me think. That’s truly a sign of a good comedian. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Cops in Georgia arrested a 17-year-old boy on Friday and charged him with killing his mother, who was a local sheriff’s deputy, and his two small sisters. One of those little girls was the daughter of rapper Juvenile. Anthony Tyrone Terrell Jr. allegedly gunned down his mother, Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Deputy Joy Deleston, 39, and her two daughters, Micaiah, 11, and Jelani, 4.

His mother Sally wrote: Our darling boy, special in so many ways to all of us. You knew you were so loved. You lived life with courage and daring and we are so grateful for the wonderful times we shared. We will be there for Matilda.


His father Kim wrote: My beautiful boy, so loving, so talented, so independent, so caring, so young . . . no more chess games mate . . . this is it, couldn’t beat you anyway! My body aches for the sound of your voice, our chats, our laughs and our life and times together. We were one, in soul and commitment. Just . . . Father and Son. I will love you forever, Dad.

His older sister Kate: I can hardly breathe when I try to write this. I feel both my heart and life have been torn apart. I loved our special talks, our daily chats from where ever you were in the world. I especially loved all the precious time we spent together. ….You were so many things to so many people, but to me you were just my little brother. There will never, ever be another “Heath” and I think that in itself is the greatest tragedy.I will continue to talk with you everyday and love you just as if you were here. You will never leave my thoughts “Roast”, ever.

This is such a heartbreaking tragedy.

Hollywood has suffered a devastating loss as Oscar nominated actor Heath Ledger was found dead today of an apparent drug overdose in a New York apartment. The “Brokeback Mountain” star was said to be found naked and unconscious in bed by a housekeeper at 3.35pm. NYPD told celebrity website TMZ.com they did not believe it was a crime, saying prescription and non-prescription drugs were found strewn near his body. Ledger, 28, had a two-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose, with former fiancee Michelle Williams, who played his wife in Brokeback Mountain. Of course there are many rumors surrounding Heath’s death from he was found in Mary Kate Olsen’s Soho apartment to him having trouble sleeping due to the demonic nature of his “Joker” role in the latest Batman movie. No matter the circumstances my heart goes out to his family especially his daughter. One thing for certain, Heath was a promising star not to be forgotten.

In extremely sad news, unfortunately Chad Butler aka Pimp C was found dead in his hotel room this morning. According to TMZ.com, L.A. County Fire responded to a 911 call at the Mondrian Hotel, in Hollywood. They arrived to his hotel room to find him dead in bed.
Pimp C the other half of Texas hip hop group UGK, had just performed with Too Short at the “House of Blues” in L.A. on Saturday night.

UGK recently recorded a award winning single with Outkast called “International Player’s Anthem (I Choose You).” Butler was 33 years old. Our hearts truly go out to the family and friends of Pimp C.
